Audio Player for Windows

Now to the project: The briefing is for a very simple Windows audio player with a few particular characteristics. It will be used to play music in stores and restaurants. So the only controller available to the user will be a play button and the volume. Changing tracks and EQ will be available in a ’secret pane’ available when a password is entered. Here's what the app needs: 1. fetch a package containing the mp3s and a xml with the programming from a remote server over the internet. 2. It needs to ping the server every 15 minutes to a) let the server know the player is reachable and b) see wether there is a new package available. In case there is something wrong with the package, it should notify the server. 3. If the player is used in a place where there's no internet available, an offline option will be enabled so it loads the package directly from the computer. 4. It needs to read and display the ID3 metadata of the song playing. 5. It needs to have an standard 10-band EQ 6. It needs to have basic play-stop-skip-volume functionality. 7. it should shuffle the songs in ‘groups’. This is simply a range of songs which should be shuffled among themselves, and then continue on to the next group. Say from song 1 to 10, then 11 to 14, then 15 to 22. Shuffle could be off as well. These ranges will be contained in the xml. There will be 3 main ‘parameters’ contained in the XML: a) a password which when entered will enable the buttons for skipping songs and access the EQ. A simple unprotected string of text, no security necessary for this. b) The schedule for the tracks to play. It may play the same playlist every single day, or it may vary from day to day too. It will be all contained in the xml. Also the player should know where to start from, according to the schedule. c) the “shuffle zones”, or the range of songs that should shuffle among themselves before moving on to the next zone. - All the graphics will be provided, so no design is needed.
