Presently I have a web site in development for a commercial enterprise. The web site is an important growth strategy for the company. However, the coder who was working on the project has become unavailable as he has taken a permanent position with another firm. The basics: Network based office in a single location with the main back end being Business Vision. As I understand, the coder created a XML dump of key data which is then used by Pervasive Database to be the back end for the web site. The current web (in development) is running off a Unix Box without much backup. My Needs: A) Someone very familiar with Apache Tomcat to i) Examine folders and locate all key web pages and coding. ii) On a fresh computer, install Apache Tomcat (in Windows) to test/verify we have all relevant information. iii) Setup files on new PC to allow a local development of the web site iv) (we have an old web site currently working out of the office running off a Linux based PC) Assist with moving the test environment to live when all code changes have been made. Out of scope, but to be discussed later: Administration and code specific changes to the web site. Summary: I need to regain control over a web site that is in development. I basically need someone to reverse engineer what is in place today and to prove it will work independently by re-installing on a new PC (this will also give me redundancy). I will install remote assitance software or logMein onto the new desktop PC where I want the new Apache Tomcat installed. I will open this up to the consultant of choice, and will be present (initially) via Skype or phone to assist however I can and to learn . You will goto the location where the files that run the web site are, and move them and install software as required. I would appreciate a quote on this installation, and also an hourly quote for additional work which will likely be needed on a go forward basis.
