Looking for Collaborators with Expertise in Custom Server Configurations and Ansible Automation

Dear Potential Collaborators, I’m Michael, a tech enthusiast with a deep-rooted passion for crafting unique server setups and tackling the intricacies of manual configurations. This project is more than a job to me; it’s a chapter in my tech journey, and I’m looking to welcome like-minded freelancers into this exciting venture. I'm reaching out personally as the lead on this project. Over the years, I've developed a deep passion for tailoring unique server setups and embracing the challenge of manual configurations. This preference stems from a desire to maintain a close-knit, personal, and direct working relationship with each team member. Unfortunately, this means I won't be considering agencies for this project. The project involves working with servers that have been manually installed and configured, without the use of standard package managers. This includes servers like NGINX and Tomcat, which have been set up through various methods ranging from tarball extractions to vendor-specific installation programs. As a result of this unique setup, traditional methods like Linux systemctl are not used for starting or stopping application processes. Further details and specifics will be shared through configuration files once collaboration begins. Key Requirements: Experience with Non-Standard Server Setups Candidates should have experience with manually installed and configured servers, particularly those not using standard package managers. Proficiency in Scripting and Automation We are particularly interested in those who have a strong background in bash, awk, grep, and other scripting languages for string/logic manipulation. Familiarity with manual script execution is a plus. Ansible Expertise The project aims to enhance our current processes through Ansible automation. We welcome those with experience in Ansible, especially in developing custom plugins or modules. While we do not have established best practices for Ansible, we are looking for collaborators who can contribute their expertise to establish efficient workflows. Compatibility with Red Hat Ansible Tower is required, and we are open to incorporating the latest versions of Ansible. Project Goals To streamline and automate our unique server setups.
