Software developer with experience controlling laboratory instruments.
We are looking for a tech to develop software to control and query two pieces of television processing hardware. The first is an attenuator that reduces the level of the television signal by increments over a specified period of time. The second is an instrumented digital TV receiver that receives the attenuated signal and reports out various metrics. The objective is to create a simple C program that increments the attenuator, queries the receiver after each increment, and adjusts the attenuaor until one of the receiver’s data outputs matches a specified threshold. Once the threshold is reached, the program logs the readings from both units with a time stamp to a .txt file.
Both hardware units are open architecture and can be controlled by C code. Attached is information on the two units. The query command to be used for the tech unit can be easily explained during the review process.
Follow-on work is anticipated. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to review and bid on future software development as needs arise.
