I would like to suggest you that instead of improving your excel sheet we will switch it to Microsoft Access. It is a great tool when scaling-up and excellent reporting features. Two key problems are: 1) Avoiding circularity with the use of new formulas like filter, scan, etc. =>Ok, 2) Creating a first in, first out approach to security dispositions for the purpose of capital gain calculations. =>Ok. once we get existing spreadsheet then we can analyse it more. 2. Hi there! I work with such things on daily basis. One thing to consider is to move everything to Google Sheets, which has in fact an Excel Look&Feel but formulas are much more flexible. To bypass circularities, I usually us an approach, which should also cover the FIFO approach you are seeking for. I had a very similar project a few weeks ago, which was about stock, FIFO etc. This project finally ended up in a Python script, which is also not a problem, as this runs on Colab which is more or less directly connected to sheets.
