we have 11 PDF files to convert to markdown here: [login to view URL] we have done the automatic part from the source libreoffice ODT via pandoc latex export, but we need to polish them 4 of the markdown files are almost-polished, there are 7 more that have not yet been touched at all we appreciate if you can do an additional pass to the almost-polished ones too ! you can see yourself by comparing the original with the almost-polished ones what is required to do: - skip the front-page & contents - generally go through each PDF file page by page to check the appearance of the HTML - nested lists are often screwed up - move the footnotes from the end of the file to their location in parenthesis - images should be given the "img-responsive" class (we need that for inclusion on a boostrap-styled responsive website) - occasional html escaping - tables with rowspan / colspan are broken, just leave some cells empty - skip syntax highlighting - etc. our estimate is that to complete this job requires 16 hours the markdown files are UTF-8 encoded without BOM, and use pretty standard markdown ([login to view URL]) with Markdown Extra extensions: Tables and Fenced Code Blocks the html produced with the markdown: markdown_py -x [login to view URL] docs/manuals/[login to view URL] when wrapped in: <!DOCTYPE html><html><head><title>qqq</title><meta charset="utf-8"></head><body> ... </body></html> should pass the HTML5 validation @ [login to view URL] for example: markdown_py -x [login to view URL] [login to view URL] | awk 'BEGIN {print "<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><title>qqq</title><meta charset="utf-8"></head><body>"} // { print $0 } END { print "</body></html>"}' > [login to view URL]

Hi, are the English and Italian documents identical when it comes to their content? My Italian is a bit rusty and was never any good so taking an English document as a pattern would be helpful to the editing job. The files look fine otherwise so it would be just time consuming, there should be no other problem. Thanks for your time. Best, Martin
