Coding VB.NET Visual Studio - Web scraping, Fiddler, Expert in HTTP

“Emulate” a web browser in VB.NET code to pull XML data from a web server. Web browser pulls down two XML files via XMLHTTP/jQuery javascript request after authenticating in a HTML post, then there is a JavaScript code that “renders” the web frontend. I need to retrieve the XML files in VB.NET code with HTTTPwebrequest class. A project is supplied that works to 98%, but it does NOT WORK to download the XML. When I request it in my code, it says “not authenticated” although the authentication first happens and I set the cookie. Task could takes 10 mins or several hours.
