We have a web based application (written in .net) for managing a library of sheet music. This data behind this application is used to run various online sheet music stores ([login to view URL] is one). A key feature of this application is the ability to upload a pdf of the actual sheet music ([login to view URL]). The application then converts the pdf into a format suitable for web delivery, we have chosen flash as this format.
We currently use Print2Flash to take the existing pdfs and convert to swf files. Two swf files are created: a preview which contains only the first page of the pdf and from which printing is not possible ([login to view URL]); a full version containing all the pages from the pdf and from which printing is possible ([login to view URL]). The only interaction required by the user is to upload the pdf, all other processing is automated and managed by the .net application.
Print2Flash has proved to be too unstable to use in this scenario and so we are looking for a replacement. Ideally we would use swftools' pdf2swf tool to perform the conversion and merge the resulting swf with a custom viewer that has the same features and the same / similar UI to the print2flash output. We are not set on pdf2swf if a suitable alternative were found.
We would like a quote for building a custom viewer for pdf2swf that has the same features and UI as the print2flash output.
Alternatively, we would be happy to hear any alternative methods of converting [login to view URL] into [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] via a process that can be automated using asp.net.
