My webhosting company says it's a Linux Server with Cpanel/WHM installed.
Here's what I need...
I created a site with several subdirectories.
When someone visits the subdirectory, I want a cookie to be placed in their computer that says what subdirectory they just visited.
Then, if they later go to the root domain name, the [login to view URL] page should first check to see if they have the cookie from any directory, and if it has it, it should automatically redirect the user to that subdirectory.
If it doesn't find a cookie, then it should display whatever html contents I have on that page.
For example, suppose that Linda visits my site and lands on [login to view URL]
Then, she removes the /prduct1 from the link and tries to visit www.example.com.
The system notices that she first landed at [login to view URL] so it instantly redirects her back to it.
Then, suppose that Tom visits my site by simply going straight to www.example.com. Since he's never been to my site, there's no cookie, so the system simply displays whatever html page I have at the main domain page.
I know a skilled programmer should write this up in under 15 minutes. For many who read this, it won't be a challenge. So if you want the job, go ahead and bid.
