I have an invoicing system that I use. It works perfectly, but it doesn't keep track of inventory. We dont keep track of inventory the way most business do. Basically I need a program (preferably created in access 2k) that will link to my dayabase that is in access 2.0 (1994 version, I think.) I have a list of materials that I use in my shop. I only keep track of the amount of boxes I have of a particular material. The inventory is not going to be linked to the invoicing at all. In other words if I sell something it will not deduct anything form inventory. I guess this is more of a check in and check out system. When I receive the boxes of material I would like to check them in. So on my screen I will see that I have X amount of boxes of a particular material. When I use a box I would like to go into this program and scan the box(es) that I am going to use and that will get deducted from inventory. The reason I want it to be it linked to my current data base is that I create purchase orders from that system. That system already has the items (description, measurements etc) and using that system I can create a purchase order based on minimums/ maximums I have set. I would like this system to be as easy as possible to use. I was thinking of having a screen that has a button that says "check in" and another that says "check out." If I am going to check material in then I click on check in. I can then do a manuel entry system were I would scan the item and enter a quantity received or I can go into automatic mode were I can scan an item and 1 will automatically be added to inventory without having to click any buttons. The same goes for check out.
