Dear Freelancers, I want a script/program that will "scan" newsgroups for binarys files there and create a .nzb for those files. Very similar to [login to view URL], but my site would index everything. I do not care in what way you do it, any language, win32 or not...etc A brief summary of from the Beginner's Basics page is as follows: I need a script/program that is dedicated to indexing the ever-changing contents of Usenet, also known as Newsgroups. The reason why we do this is to remove the hassle of crawling through the thousands of newsgroups and millions of headers to find what you're looking for, whether that be obscure music, tv shows, games or movies. Think of it as a TV guide, but we're a guide that applies to Usenet. I would not only be willing to develop this software but I would also find it very intriguing piece of software. This would be my approach. First I would get me a copy of RFC 977 (Network News Transfer Protocol) and install a NNTP server. If you don't care about the language I would most likely use C# (.NET). The reason I would develop it in C# is because it would be quicker to write, less issues as far as bugs and the speed of .NET would be much better than most CC++ programs! I would also write this as a Windows Service so it can run 24/7 and check for new messages with programs to index. I can also write this in other languages like Visual Basic, CC++ using Win32 API or even C++ with MFC framework.
