Zen Cart Product Listing Layout Change

Hi, I am working on a Zen Cart eCommerce site. I want to change the product listing layout to be able to group several products together. I have attached my current product listing page and the layout that I would like to have. As you can see I am trying to group several products together and display one single picture. I assume I need to change the database to add a group id, and assign that group id to each product. And also, picture would be associated with the group rather than product. But these are just my assumptions. If you have different approches I am open.
