Create software which will be used to import csv\excel files in to various ODBC connected databases. Connections will already be set up in the windows DSN servers ([login to view URL]) The program will have a section where you can define a routine like so- Set the routine name, select which fields in the csv\excel file goes to which field name in the database, select the data type (text, double, number), select if it's a required matching field, select if the routine will be used to Update,Delete or Add the records. The routine is saved and can be recalled later note: The 'required matching field' is where the user indicates that the value in the file must match the value in the database - otherwise it will skip that record. The user will then add files to the list, select the DSN connection and select the routine to be used on that file. Once the user hits go, the program will get the data from the file, create the SQL script according to the routine, and then run the script to update the data from the file. I have limited knowledge of .NET, good knowledge of VBA and work with databases. That being said, I should be a lot easier to work with due to what I do understand :) I have created this in Access and knows it works however I would like a standalone application so I can add features and not depend on MS Access to be available.
