English→Spanish machine translation postediting job

A group of translation technologies researchers from the Universitat d'Alacant, in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, require four experienced, professional English→Spanish translators to post-edit machine-translated output into usable translations. Machine translation post-editing experience will be particularly valued. A post-editing tool (called PET) will be used for these experiments. No previous knowledge about this tool is required. PET is an intuitive post-editing tool that provides a friendly environment for post-editing tasks, which records time and all the changes made. Training will be provided. Candidates are required to be present in the Sant Vicent del Raspeig campus of the Universitat d'Alacant and work there for a whole calendar week, that is, for five days (this spring, to be determined). They will post-edit about 1,000 sentences containing about 27,000 words which have been translated with a high-quality machine translation system. The texts are news articles. Translators will be paid a gross amount of €750.00 for the job. They will have to be set up as providers for the Universitat d'Alacant using their NIF number. The Universitat d'Alacant is expected to withhold tax according to a fixed rate of about 25% and issue a tax certificate. No other expenses will be paid.
