Magento rewrite for categories & product

I want to change the url rewrite for categories and product rewrite because each time when I try to do it I got the message The URL already exists and upon checking I found that there are two url working like this [login to view URL] [login to view URL] So I need to know the solution and I will do it myself for the rest of the url rewrite.
