Batch processing and chemical inventory

We have a client that produces a chemical product using formulas from "batch cards". They have an accounting system but the inventory does not properly handle the batch process manufacturing or the updating of inventory production quantities. We need a program that will: 1) Pull the batch information stored in Microsoft SQL 2005 or MS Visual FoxPro 2) Process the information to determine the quantity used by the batch a. The calculations will be computed with a minimum of ten decimal places b. The production quantities should scale to any (reasonable) batch size c. Handle multiple batch levels d. calculate batch yields e. Handle multiple conversions including weight, volume and discrete quantities 3) The resulting quantities will be stored back to database tables with a transaction number, batch number, etc The above is a simplistic but accurate explanation of the task.
