I have an excel file with name, arrival and departure time for cruise-ships arriving to Copenhagen. This information needs to go to my iCal.
Example;
Arrival; 4/7/14 at 9:00 AM
Departure; 4/7/14 at 17:00 PM
Name of ship; Aidacara
Dock c190
What I need you to do, is writing a script that I can use for this list, and re-use whit a new and similar list. No copy/past, no simple typing is wanted.
A screenshot of the excel file is attached. There are 311 ships docking.
Payment when the script works, and the list is in my iCal.
Hi
I've got extensive experience of OSX and have previously used Applescripts for a range of automation tasks. The basic script you require (without the Numbers integration) is outlined below:
tell application "Calendar"
tell calendar "Test"
set theDate to current date
set time of theDate to 9 * hours
make new event at end with properties {description:"Aidacara", start date:theDate, end date:theDate + 480 * minutes}
end tell
end tell
The Numbers integration is straightforward. This task should only take a few hours to complete. I would of course fix any issues which may arise for free although I hope there would not be any. I am located in the UK so there would not be any long delays due to timezone differences.
Regards
Karen
