I need a java applet that will read a PDF file from a preset hidden location within my server (so it can not be downloaded), and will display it in a java window.
the idea is to prevent a PDF file from beeing donwloaded and reused.
the pdf files i can store somewhere on the server, and then the veiwer can show them securely, so they could not be downloaded. encryption would probably be needed.
I would need the following parameters in the applet:
0) if possible block screen capturing
1) print (on/off) per file
2) save (on/off per file
3) right click or save dispable (on/off)
4) disallow save or download to the HD (on/off)
5) if possible a posibility to block screen capturing (if possible)
6) big files loading (on/off)
7) possibility to display PDF forms, and save data to the local directory for retreival or reediting if necessary
no popups
I am on shared ASP windows hosting account, so I have FTP and control panel. No dlls or custom installs that require full server admin. (basic admin I can do in control panel).
the user would only need an internet browser to view the pdf file in the viewer. the viewer should be compatible with most browsers, and no extra activex or other dowloads would be needed. just java enabled browser.
Conversion of PDF into somekind of other format to use in java applet is also ok.
I would need to be able to load your applet in my asp page, that I will password protect myself latter.
no downloads of any files or software to the user machine,
the program needs to ran on most machines with java installed.
I need to be able to load the applet and display the pdf file contents (not with Adobe reader application).
Adobe forms files would be also necessary to be displayed.
Saving of adobe forms data to the server is also needed.
this application should work under windows server and in windows 98 upto and including ms vista OS
