We have a board based on ARM AT91SAM9G20, running Linux. We need to develop a pulse counter to be used in this board. The program should count pulses in 15 minutes interval (at a maximum rate of 1,200 pulses/minute). The board has 6 pins free for GPIO. The board will be connected to electricity or water meters. Each x pulses will be equivalent to 1 kWh. The application will run in userspace but a separated driver with the same functionality is desirable (so any other application can read from the driver the pulses). I've hacked up some code that's decoding the I2C lines, but I'm not very familiar with Verilog, so the implemention is messy. I have a project which will use Siemens TC65 GSM modem which will be connected to customer hardware and using 19200bps. The TC65 will read some data on its General Purpose IO (GPIO) lines. As and when the data is read on the GPIO lines, the modem should send the captured/read data to an email address defined on the SIM card. It will also need to report the IMEI or SIM ID so that each site can be individually identified. It will also have a push button and two LEDs. My final year thesis is to interface dirctly the CMOS colour image sensor OV7620 (omnivision) to the DSP TMS320C6711. The problem is that the sensor is controlled by the I2C I want to do so without the use of an FPGA, i must implent the I2C protocol in C Language for the specific DSP.
